Author Suzanne Anderson - Interview

Mrs. Tuesday's Departure

If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?

France: 1850 – 1950. Just think of what was accomplished in art and literature during that period. Amazing!

If you could invite any 5 people to dinner who would you choose?

Jesus
Picasso
Leonardo Di Vinci
Shakespeare
Jacques Cousteau

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?

A big boat to get us off the island
A fully stocked kitchen and wine cabinet on the boat
An interesting companion to share the voyage

What is one book everyone should read?

The Bible. Whether you are religious or not, reading it and embracing its basic principles will make you a more gentle, happier, peaceful person.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.

I hope that it will bring you pleasure and touch your heart.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?

Yes! I’m completing a children’s chapter book, God Loves You, Chester Blue, which will be out in August. I can’t wait! And then I have another women’s novel that will be published in the fall.

If you could jump in to a book, and live in that world.. which would it be?

I’d love to try life in a Jane Austen novel, or a steamy historical romance.

What's the best advice anyone has ever given you?

When you fail, you are given a choice: If you quit, you lose. If you continue on, you win. So, never give up.

How do you react to a bad review?

If the criticism is valid, I use it to improve my book or my work-in-progress. If someone takes the time to write a thoughtful review, even if it is negative, I believe it is valuable to an author.

If you were a bird, which one would you be?
Suzanne Anderson
An eagle. I admire their beauty and strength.

You have won one million dollars what is the first thing that you would buy?

A beachfront house on Friday Harbor, one of the most beautiful places in America. I currently live in the mountains, but I also love the ocean.

Which authors have influenced you most, how?

Hemingway’s descriptions are incredible. e.e. cummings is a wonderful romantic. Dr. Suess has a wonderfully joyful view of the world.

What do you do in your free time?

Get lost in a good book. Or take my dogs to the off-leash dog trails. Both are wonderful ways to unwind.

Who or what inspired you to become an author?

The desire to create stories for others, which hopefully bring them the same joy I feel when I read a wonderful book. Does that make sense?

Author Patti Gibble - Interview

Picture

Tell me about yourself as a writer (For example, when did you begin, how did you know it was your passion, etc. but this can include anything you’d like to share.)

Zari I did not know that I was a writer, I just started writing! God told me to write down the things He said to me in my quiet time and I ignored His instruction for a long, long time!! I thought God knew I was not good at spelling, grammar and stuff like that but my problem with basic writing skills did not bother Him at all. Finally, I obeyed and started writing down what he told me in prayer time. Suddenly the words came off the end of my pen with no effort at all. This was the beginning.

Then one day my mentor, D. Mike Murdock, told me to write a book on one of his programs. I don’t mean that he told me personally to write a book, but I do mean he said to the audience, “If you can talk about something passionately for one hour that is a 32 page book!” I was a talker and I knew I could talk for 2 hours straight before getting tired! Passion was not a problem for me; I was passionate about many things. So, after Dr. Murdock told the audience to repeat “I am going to write a book,” five times and I listened to the program over and over again, I wrote a book!!!

How did 10 Powerful Tips for Training Unstoppable Children come about?

Well, Dr. Mike Murdock, my mentor, asked people in the audience to study themselves and know what they were passionate about in life. In particular, he asked us to know what we hate because this is the problem we are called to solve on the earth. At once, I knew I hated when kids were ignored and not taught spiritual things.

Later, Pastor Zane at Victory Worship Center in Tucson, Ariz. preached a sermon on the “Unstoppable Generation  – a generation who will not be stopped by the enemy but will push through to win the victory.” So I said to myself, “I am going to write that book.” From that point I started writing 10 Powerful Tips for Training Unstoppable Children. My passion went into writing a book giving tips to parents, teachers, grandparents and mentors and information on how to train unstoppable children.

What do you hope readers will take away from 10 Powerful Tips for Training Unstoppable Children?

I hope they will take these 10 powerful principles and put them to work in their own lives. I know they will experience success if they use these principles, and I want them to teach them to their children or anybody they are mentoring.

Have you ever considered making any changes to the book since its publication?

Yes, I want to make it into a devotional sometime and add questions at the end. Also, I would like to rewrite chapter one in a way that “grabs” the audience because the first chapter is the one they always show up on Amazon.  I am not sure mine does.  The first chapter in my book is on love which is vital and you cannot effectively teach without love. Many people (especially moms) think it is so simple to love their children.  And, yes, it is simple for moms to love their children but it is also easy to have fear for their children and get the two mixed up. We want to parent out of “love” not out of “fear.” If I rewrote my book, I would make sure people understood this from the beginning. I would be clearer next time with the rewrite.

If you weren’t a writer what career/job/profession do you think you’d have?

That is easy! I would be a speaker. A speaker is what I consider myself or maybe a salesperson. I do not consider myself a writer. I love to influence people in the right direction. I just can’t wait to get up on that stage and speak to them and that is why I write. In fact I have to pretend I am speaking to an audience in order to write anything! In fact, that is what I am doing right now, Zari.

What’s next for you as a writer?

I am writing two more books with more powerful tips for training unstoppable children. I am also speaking. I have done radio interviews with Zari Banks, and I love it! I hope we get to do TV or video together soon! Mostly, I am really looking forward to going with Zari Banks to see my mentor Dr. Mike Murdock in Fort Worth, Texas!!!

Where can readers connect with you?

I am on Facebook as Patti Gib, on Twitter as @pattigaz and my email is patti g az  at gmail dot com. Also, look up my book on Amazon by typing in my name Patti Gibble – that is the best way to find my book.

Love you, Zari, and thanks for the interview!!!
